# How to Make It:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook gnocchi according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
02 - Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced halal sausage and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until browned. Remove sausage and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add diced onion and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
04 - Add chopped kale to the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until wilted.
05 - Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
06 - Reduce heat to low and stir in grated Parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and optional crushed red pepper flakes.
07 - Return sausage to skillet, add cooked gnocchi, and toss gently. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until everything is heated through and well combined.
08 - Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • Those clouds of gnocchi absorb the sauce like little flavor sponges, making every bite feel indulgent without hours of work.
  • The sausage crisps up just enough to give you textural contrast against the creamy sauce, so it never feels heavy or one-note.
  • Kale wilts into the cream so beautifully that even people who claim not to eat vegetables actually eat vegetables.
02 -
  • Never rinse cooked gnocchi because the starch is what helps the cream sauce stick to each pillowy piece instead of sliding right off.
  • Adding the Parmesan off the heat rather than over high heat prevents it from getting gritty or separating from the cream.
  • Taste everything multiple times during cooking because a pinch of salt or pepper early on changes how the whole dish develops.
03 -
  • Brown your sausage properly because those caramelized edges are where half the flavor lives and they take just five minutes to develop.
  • Keep your cream sauce low and gentle rather than boiling it hard because cream can break and separate if it gets too hot, turning your silky sauce into something grainy and sad.
